General account opening requirements

What are the requirements for opening a Personal Current Account?
Prior to opening a personal account with our bank, we will require at least two reliable references.These may include acceptable bank references or employers references. In addition, we will inquire at what use the account will be put to and a valid picture ID and current address.

What are the requirements for opening a Corporate Account?
If the account is to be a corporate account, we will require the Articles of Incorporation of the company, a copy of its registration in the appropriate commercial Register and all the necessary corporate resolutions.

What are the requirements for opening a non-resident (offshore, exempt) account?
The Bank will require the Articles of Incorporation of the company, a copy of its registration in the appropriate commercial Register and all the necessary corporate resolutions. In addition, we will also require acceptable bank references on the beneficial owner of the corporation and legally valid identification documents of the beneficial owner.

Investment

Requirements to open an investment account?
Requirements to open an investment account? To establish an account with MCB requires that you have a relationship with Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and on the BES islands Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba for which a banking relationship is desirable. In addition we require two bank references from reputable banks. We also need to know to source of the funds you intend to use for your account at MCB.

Do you offer on-line brokerage/trading account?
No we do not at this time but hope to be able to broaden our on-line offering in the future to include on-line trading and brokerage.

What are the business hours of Personal Loans and Mortgages?
From 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.

 


What is the minimum and maximum age for applying for a loan?
18 years with parents and up to 71 years. Older persons can apply for a loan and depending on the situation will be handled case by case.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can borrow?
Minimum amount is Nafl.500,00 and maximum depends on each individual request and financial situation.

What's the interest rate?
It depends on the type of loan.

What information do I have to take along?
Last salary slip, I.D. or Passport and bank account number.

Can I sign my loan/papers alone or does my husband/wife/partner have to sign also?
It depends. If you are guaranteeing a loan for somebody else your wife/husband.

Can the monthly payments be made automatically or do I have to come to the bank Personally?
Preferable automatically.

How long does it take to pay off a loan?
It depends on the type of loan.

How long do I have to wait to hear if my application is o.k?
In most cases within 2 days.

What do I have to do should I need a guarantor?
You have to check with your family or friends and talk to them to see if one of them are willing to be a guarantor for your loan. He/she must have a stable job and salary. His/her payment capacity will be checked out also.

Can I fill in an application form at one of the MCB branch offices? If yes, what are Their business hours?
Yes you can and the business hours are from 08:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit the Bank Directory on our website for detailed information about each Branch's opening hours.

What happens if I paid off my debt, can I come again?
If you have paid the loan promptly, you can come back again.

If I have a problem with my payments, what can I do?
Contact the administration at 466-1817 to discuss the problem and make arrange- ments. The best thing is to always let the administration know what the problem is.

What happens if during the period of my loan, I need additional funds?
You can call or visit us at our office to apply for the additional funds. Depending on your financial situation we will supply you with the funds.
